Bikes for Refugees
We believe a bicycle can change the world
The Bike Project
The Bike Project takes on second-hand bikes, fixes them up and gives them to refugees.
People on their waiting list are often having to choose between public transport and a square meal.
Since 2013, itβs given away 11,348 bikes and taught 670 women to ride a bike through their group cycle training for refugee women.
The lessons empower and inspire women to feel the freedom of their very own bike β perhaps for the first time in their lives.
Bikes for Refugees
Bikes for Refugees (Scotland) aims to support the resettlement of isolated and socio-economically disadvantaged New Scots through the upcycling and provision of free bicycles and the transformational power of cycling.
Bicycles provide a free and sustainable means of transportation to support access to essential services as well as an important way to meet new people, and to keep physically and mentally healthy.
Bikes for Refugees are the only dedicated organisation providing this unique support to refugees and asylum seekers in Scotland.
